Lighthouse Point

A quiet metropolitan suburb ideal for relaxing and boating.

Welcome to Lighthouse Point

A quiet metropolitan suburb ideal for relaxing and boating
Part of the Miami metropolitan area, between Boca Raton to the north and Fort Lauderdale to the south, the peaceful waterfront town of Lighthouse Point is well-known for its stunning beaches and relaxed atmosphere. Its streets are interwoven with tranquil waterways, a true Venice-styled neighborhood that’s reminiscent of Las Olas but with a much more suburban feel. It’s conveniently accessible via route US-1, Florida A1A, and several other major roads, which makes it a sweet spot with enough distance from major urban areas to have privacy.
The area was named for the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse, perched on the nearby Hillsboro beach and serving as the demarcation of the northern limit of the Florida Reef. Consequently, Lighthouse Point is an incredible snorkeling spot, in addition to being popular with vacationers. Incorporated in 1956, Lighthouse Point has become a highly residential suburb of around 11,000 people.
Lighthouse Point Real Estate features modest single-family homes, waterfront condos, and multi-million dollar estates are all found along the waterways and tree-lined streets of Lighthouse Point. From contemporary beauties with a pool and a dock in the backyard to palatial Venetian-inspired masterpieces with ornate privacy gates, Lighthouse Point offers up varied and magnificent homes along its quiet water-woven cul-de-sacs.

What to Love

• Convenient location between several beaches, less than an hour from Miami
• Tranquil mood and easygoing population
• Awe-inspiring estates with private docks

Dining, Shopping, & Entertainment

It’s no surprise that in a town so community-focused, you’d find an abundance of local eateries, shops, and convenient centers designed to provide for your day-to-day needs. Lighthouse Point is the kind of town where the baristas know you by name, and the small grocers take care to supply the best of produce and goods. The Shoppes at Beacon Light, for instance, is a commercial center where you’ll be able to run errands, treat yourself to salon and spa services, grab groceries, and find niche fashion boutiques.
Despite its smaller size, you’ll be able to find almost every style of cuisine your heart could desire in Lighthouse Point. Encapsulating the theme of having everything at your fingertips, Offerdahl’s Off the Grill serves up organic, nutrient-dense foods that run the gamut from New American, Greek, Asian, and other exceptional health-centric options. Revel in the island vibe at The Nauti Dawg Marina and Cafe, a casual waterfront restaurant that boasts fresh seafood and classic American fare for the whole family.
Speaking of seafood, you’ll be hard-pressed to find more variety or finer catches than at Papa’s Raw Bar. Tropical and easygoing, this restaurant has over 40 years in the seafood industry and even runs its own fishing boats to guarantee quality. Known as a local favorite, J. Mark’s Restaurant is a staple must-try in Lighthouse Point. Diverse New American cuisine dominates their menu, and the mellow ambiance coupled with their spacious outdoor patio makes it a great place for date nights, too.

Things to Do

One of the biggest draws to Lighthouse Point is the abundance of parks and greenspaces in the city, in addition to the miles of beach available to enjoy. De Groff Park is popular among locals for its well-kept play areas and over three acres of manicured expanses. From here, you can watch colorful boats sail, see the lighthouse in all its glory, and unwind on a bench under the shade of a swaying palm tree.
Boaters and yacht owners can dock at the Lighthouse Point Marina, which is family-friendly and has over 100 wet slips to accommodate your needs. The area also has a restaurant, a heated pool, tennis court, ship store, and fueling stations for your vessel.
